Anesthesia Implications
Generally used to treat HIV.
Associated with renal impairment, so make sure to check labs. Avoid drugs that would have additive/synergistic negative effects on the renal system.
Can increase serum glucose and liver function tests (ALT/AST).
CNS depressant.
Classification: Antiretroviral
Method of Action: This drug stops the HIV replication cycle by binding to the integrase active site. This inhibits the strand transfer step of HIV-1 DNA integration.
Metabolism: Hepatic
